Sirens and public warning: Russia uses sirens, loudspeakers, radio and television announcements as well as regional alerts to inform the population during natural hazards, technical incidents or other emergencies.

When the signal „Внимание всем!“, meaning “Attention everyone”, is issued, remain calm, follow official information via radio, television, authority channels or the MChS app and obey instructions from emergency services.

• Plan drinking water and beverages for everyone in the household.
• Store long-life food that can be eaten cold or prepared easily.
• Keep medicines, first-aid supplies and personal long-term medication available.
• Prepare a battery or crank radio, torches, spare batteries and power banks.
• Keep cash in small notes, as card payments and cash machines may fail.
• Prepare warm clothing, blankets and alternative light sources.
• With alternative cooking or heating, watch for fire and carbon monoxide risks.

In case of power outages, the first responsible contact is usually the local grid operator, energy supplier or competent regional authority. For general hazard and disaster management information, MChS / EMERCOM is a central official authority in Russia.
