Why communication should be prepared

During a longer power cut, mobile networks, internet, landlines, routers and digital information sources may fail or only work with restrictions.

It is therefore sensible to define simple communication channels, meeting points and important information in advance.

Keep an emergency radio ready

A battery-powered or wind-up radio can help receive official information when internet and mobile networks are not working.

Use mobile phones sparingly

Use your mobile phone consciously. Reduce brightness, close unnecessary apps and use flight mode when you do not need it.

Agree meeting points

Agree with family, neighbours or important contacts where to meet if phone or internet are unavailable.

Print important numbers

Do not store important phone numbers only on your mobile phone. Print them out or write them on paper.
