Why communication should be prepared

During a longer power outage, mobile networks, internet, landlines, routers and digital information sources may fail or work only with restrictions.

That is why it makes sense to define simple communication channels, meeting points and important information in advance.

Keep an emergency radio ready

A battery-powered or hand-crank radio can help receive official information when internet and mobile networks are not working.

Use phones sparingly

Use your phone consciously. Reduce brightness, close unnecessary apps and use airplane mode when you do not need it.

Agree on meeting points

Agree with family, neighbors or important contacts where to meet if phone or internet are not reachable.

Print important numbers

Do not store important phone numbers only on your phone. Print them out or write them down on paper.
